Wedding Photographer

A Wedding Photographer takes pictures for couples when they get married. From early morning hair and makeup sessions with the bride and her bridesmaids to the cutting of the cake, Wedding Photographers are expected to be there capturing every moment.

Effective Wedding Photographers are attentive and alert. Unlike most fields of photography, this one doesn’t make you wait for hours to capture the right moment. You need to know within seconds what will make a good picture because wedding action moves so quickly.

Take, for instance, the bouquet toss. If you’re not paying attention, you could miss the moment when all the single ladies have their hands up, trying to determine where the bouquet will fall so they can snatch it. Be a split second too late and you’ve missed a memory.

Never forget, too, that it’s only partially about skill. You must be an excellent communicator so you can tell your assistants when and what you need to set up for the next shot. You also need to be able to manage wedding guests for group shots. As cute as the flower girl may be, a bride will not be pleased to see a wedding party photo featuring her with her finger up one nostril.

This job is as intense as it is rewarding. Ultimately, the bride will recollect her wedding from your point of view. If her photos don’t turn out well, she will remember it for a lifetime. If they do, she will be happily reminded of her wedding for years to come…and probably rave about you to all of her friends.
