Validation Engineer
Make sure manufacturing machines are running efficiency. Also known as Equipment Validation Engineer See More
Modern manufacturing is an increasingly complex world. Machines used for large-scale production are expensive and complicated instruments, and require highly trained professionals to ensure they’re operating within accepted ranges. That’s where Validation Engineers come into play: a Validation Engineer is in charge of the care and evaluation of manufacturing machines.
Your main duty as a Validation Engineer is to make sure manufacturing machines are running as they should. For this, you conduct regular surveys of machines, and when they show signs of malfunctioning, you direct validation Technicians on how to repair them, or advise the management team regarding disposal and replacement.
Machines aren’t the only things that need your help, though. Your colleagues depend on your knowledge and experience to help them do their jobs. Supervisors need reports on the condition of equipment, and have budget and efficiency considerations to keep in mind. Meanwhile, Validation Technicians and Maintenance Technicians await direction from you for the specific duties they need to complete.
In between your machine inspections and management responsibilities, you help draw up larger plans regarding manufacturing machinery. For example, you may be called upon to help complete large-scale reports, such as helping to plan out a new budget that includes phasing out certain machines which are ending their service life, and weighing this against the costs of maintaining existing units.
As a Validation Engineer, you work in a factory or other manufacturing facility, and deal with large equipment almost daily. If you want to be on the floor every day, taking things apart, doing tests, and solving problems, and if you have a great eye for detail, then this could be the place for you.
