Regional Climate Change Analyst

Analysts analyze data. Regional Climate Change Analysts bury their noses into information pertaining to climate change and how it affects other systems on Earth. But the job doesn’t stop there. Regional Climate Change Analysts also foster community awareness and push for policy changes.

As a Regional Climate Change Analyst, you work to save the planet. Well, in part. Your main responsibility is to process the data the researchers and Scientists gather, and translate it into information that the Earth’s inhabitants can use.

For example, you might analyze the effects of global warming on icebergs. Then you use that data to determine how much fresh water will be available in an area in 50 or 1,000 years. Or you might focus on the temperature during the same time period. This information allows you to make predictions about what resources will be available to humans and animals in the future.

Your day-to-day job involves analyzing data, but your overarching goal is to plan for the future. So you use the information you gather to make recommendations about community systems and governmental policies.

That’s a simplified way of saying that you sometimes fight the fight against government, and other times are respected for your knowledgeable input. In addition, you work to educate the community through advertising campaigns and other awareness promotions. After all, we all live on this planet, so understanding what’s happening and helping to fix problems are shared responsibilities.
