Technical Recruiter
Search for ideal candidates to fill technical positions.
Recruiters help people find jobs, and help companies fill positions with the most qualified employees available. You do this by scouring the Internet and attending recruiting events to locate talented candidates.
You can work directly for companies in the human resources department and look for candidates for that company alone. Or you can work for recruiting agencies that accept resumes from jobseekers, whom you connect with outside employers who use the agency to fill vacancies.
Your job is a lot like that of a Matchmaker. Instead of helping two people find love, however, you help them establish a harmonious working relationship. You use your keen abilities to read people when you’re working with hiring companies and when you are evaluating jobseekers’ skills.
Asking the right questions and figuring out exactly what each party is looking for will help you make the most fruitful employment placements. You’ll often be the first one to screen candidates for employers. After reviewing their resumes, you select only the top applicants to send along to companies. You also prep your candidates before the interview to help them make the very best first impression.
As a Recruiter, you can choose to specialize in a variety of areas. If you enjoy helping recent college graduates land their first entry-level job, you can work as a College Recruiter, visiting campuses all over the country to cull the best talent for potential employers. If you have an interest in the high-tech field, you can specialize in finding experienced information technology professionals to fill vacancies at software companies.
