Real Estate Broker
Help home buyers find the perfect place and navigate the complex paperwork. Also known as Associate Broker, Broker Associate See More
It’s said that home is where the heart is. If that’s true, Real Estate Brokers are the Heart Surgeons of housing, using their knowledge of land and property to transplant transient hearts into permanent homes.
Although not an operation, home buying is nonetheless a significant life event, not to mention a major financial transaction. As a Real Estate Broker, it’s your job to help people navigate both the process and the purchase.
Like Real Estate Agents, a Real Estate Broker will help clients buy and sell their homes. When you represent buyers, you use the Internet to find homes based on their needs and budget, then physically show them properties until they find “the one,” answering questions about neighborhoods, taxes and financing along the way. As a Real Estate Broker, you represent sellers, you help price their homes, then you list them online and market them to buyers via advertisements, open houses and face-to-face showings. In the case of both buyer and seller, you help negotiate the sale and coordinate home financing, inspections and closings.
While you do many of the same tasks as a Real Estate Agent, what separates you is that you’re a Business Owner. Because you have a special license, you’re the CEO of your firm, which means you employ other Real Estate Agents who work for you in exchange for a portion of your commission on sold properties.
Although you typically work in residential real estate, you may also represent commercial properties or rentals. Regardless, your goal — like a Surgeon ’s — is making sure people’s hearts have homes.
