As a Radio Station Music Director you are responsible for making connections with music industry representatives, developing playlists and setting up contests, promotions and other marketing-related projects for the radio station. Using computer software, it is also be your job as the Radio Station Music Director, to plug in the rotation so Disc Jockeys know what songs to play and how often to play them.

The most important part of your job is to know what your target listener wants to hear. And as an added bonus, you’d get to try out new bands that want to make it on your station and get heard by your audience. That means you could set local or national music trends and be the first to hear the next big thing.
