A Post-Production Coordinator is the Manager and Administrator for work that happens after filming is wrapped up. Much like the Film Production Coordinator makes sure the actual creation of the movie is achieved with as few hiccups as possible, the Post-Production Coordinator needs to make sure that everyone in their individual editorial departments is doing what needs to be done, smoothly and efficiently.

If you want to be involved in the movie making process, but your talents are more clerical than creative, then the job of Post-Production Coordinator could be the fit for you. Organizational skills are big here. A head for numbers doesn’t hurt either since you’ll be managing the post-production budget, and making sure that editing, CGI, and other post-production elements are all achievable, both financially and in time for the release date.

Hopes are high during post-production, and Directors and Producers may want constant updates as to how the process is coming along. This portion of movie-making can be especially difficult because most of the budget has been used, but you’re still expected to make magic happen (actual Magicians need not apply).
