A Pastor has two main responsibilities: to provide for the religious needs of the congregation and to help that congregation pull in new members. Pastors often speak of being called to do the work, and they tackle all of the responsibilities of the job with unmatched zeal, even when that job bleeds into their personal life.

Holding formal services at least once a week allows your congregation to come together and support one another. As the Pastor, you give rousing speeches or read from religious texts during these services. People come from miles around just to listen to you speak, but you don’t let it go to your head.

To attract new members, you’re very active in your community. Attending sporting events, plays, concerts, and community meetings allows you to talk to new people and convince them to give your church a try. When people in your religious community fall ill, you rush to visit and offer prayers. Sometimes, you provide financial support to people, or offer to help them find new jobs.

Each meeting held by your church is incredibly important to you. Youth group meetings, board meetings, funding meetings, and the like take up much of your time, but you attend each meeting cheerfully.

While you’re allowed to get married and have a personal life, your congregation watches over your personal life carefully. You keep this in mind at all times, and you don’t drink, use drugs, swear, or lose your temper, if you can help it. If you do slip up, you console yourself with the thought that you have something to discuss in that week’s sermon.
