Music Teacher

Music Teachers aren’t just creative and talented; they also know how to share their knowledge with other people. As a Music Teacher, you teach students of varying ages and abilities how to play a musical instrument. You often work one-on-one with a student in private lessons, but you may also be employed by schools and other institutions to teach groups of students.

In this job, you instruct your students in an instrument you yourself already play. You know your stuff because you’ve already gone through the same process that your students are going through. You spend your days coaching them on their technique, pitch, and rhythm.

You have to be familiar with the music and skill level of your students so you can help them stay organized and on top of their music. If you teach mostly private lessons, your work may involve a lot of scheduling.

One of the most exciting things about being a Music Teacher is that you get to watch your students’ progress. You see them turn from budding Musicians to established professionals, and it’s all because you’ve had the privilege of sharing what you love with them. And best of all, by teaching, you become an even better Musician yourself.
