Metal Worker

As a Metal Worker, you install metal components into a wide variety of objects. Thanks to you, the Metal Worker, bridges, buildings, cars, and equipment, which all contain metal pieces, stay upright instead of bending, twisting, or collapsing and spewing their contents about.

You may work for an automobile repair shop, a construction company, a road crew, or a factory as a Metal worker. Your workplace will have a big influence on the sort of work you do and the size of the metal pieces you work with.

You may be given pieces of metal that have already been manufactured, along with a set of plans or instructions telling you where the items should be installed. You screw the pieces together, making sure they’re tightly sealed. Using a blowtorch, you may melt the edges to connect them, or you may ensure a tight seal with the help of cement or a caulking material.

You may also be required to bend pieces of metal into different shapes using heat, hand tools, and your own brute strength. Working from a set of drawings that tell you how the item should look when your work is done, you bend the metal as specified, and then measure the finished item to make sure it matches the drawing.

You may be asked to climb over or under your metal pieces as you work on them, and the tools you use may get very, very hot. So you always wear gloves, goggles, and a helmet to preserve your good looks.
