Meditation Teacher

Meditation Teachers guide those who seek mental clarity through meditation. The method you teach combines breathing and concentration to deepen understanding and achieve relaxation. You’re like a Cheerleader for spiritual well-being, but much calmer. As a Meditation Teacher, you work with clients one on one, or conduct classes where you steer a group of students toward Zen.

It’s important to create a supportive atmosphere in your classroom. You dim the lights, select relaxing music, and make sure distractions like construction noise are drowned out. The better you are at making students feel safe, the more successful they will be at discovering deeper and deeper levels of their minds and hearts.

Using a relaxing voice, you start your sessions by telling students about major philosophies, types of meditation, and important spiritual figures in the world of meditation. Then, you chant for them as they meditate.

An added bonus: casual attire. Meditation is all about comfort, and as a Meditation Teacher, you must not be bound by formal outfits. Sweatpants, a t-shirt, and sneakers are perfect work clothes. Leave power suits and neckties on the rack at the store.

And just because this job tends to be non-stressful, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s about teaching a bunch of fluffy, esoteric principles. Meditation has solid roots in Eastern philosophies dating back thousands of years. The practice is also becoming more mainstream in the United States, as Western Doctors acknowledge its ability to ease pain and help patients have a better quality of life. Some Nurses even take Meditation Teacher training courses as part of their continuing education requirements.
