In your position as Integrated Pest Management Technician, you have direct contact with customers, so you’ll need your listening skills and a great capacity for understanding. What is an everyday occurrence to an Integrated Pest Management Technician might be a traumatic experience for the customer. After all, not everyone experiences having a skunk family living under their home.

On the job site, as an Integrated Pest Management Technician, you answer questions, calm concerns, and inform the customer about what is being done. You set traps, block potential openings, put out bait, and apply select pesticides. Later, you retrieve traps, and dispose of or release animals elsewhere. Most jobs require follow-up visits where you look for evidence that the critters are still present, talk with the customer, and reapply pesticides as needed.

This is an entry-level position, so with some experience you have the opportunity to advance into the positions of Applicator or Supervisor.
