Infographic Artist Career

An Infographic Artist is a professional presentation creator. As an Infographic Artist, you collect data and research, then present your findings in graphics which can be understood quickly and easily. If you were the kid who always got excited about poster day, this could be the career for you.

As an Infographic Artist, you need the ability to synthesize information, and make images that accurately portray data and written text. But it is not the actual graphic creation that should excite you—there are more exciting things happening in visual design. What is cool is the translation part: You are understanding research, then using your visual communication skills to make that research accessible and interesting to a wider audience.

As a bonus, you can probably find this job in any area of research that interests you: Journalists, research institutions, even map-makers like conveying their message in clear graphics for people to digest.

How do I become an Infographic Artist?

A strong background in computer graphics is helpful. And be aware that this title does not always exist, even though the job duties might. You might need to work your way into an institution of your interest, then carve out this niche for yourself.
