In-Store Demonstrator

The best way to sell a new product is to get it into the customer’s hands. With their full attention, you’re able to explain the benefits of the product and encourage them to buy. As an In-Store Demonstrator, you strategically place yourself at the entrance to an aisle, or set up in another highly visible location. Your table holds samples, coupons, and information about the day’s product.

Speaking of the product that an In-Store Demonstrator handles, well, that varies widely. If food and drink are your pleasure, you might cook meats, bake cookies, shovel chips out of a bag, cut cheesecake into small portions, or pour samples of beer or juice. Whatever the food product, the In-Store Demonstrator makes sure it’s properly cooked, offers recipe and serving suggestions, and generally promotes the product’s benefits.

Outside of foods, you might demonstrate the many uses of a multi-tool, showcase the qualities of a food blender, offer makeovers in order to introduce makeup products, or highlight the effectiveness of a new formula of cleaner.

Your goal is to draw in customers, offer them samples or make them “see how easy” it is to use the product, answer questions, and direct them towards the product display. At the end of the day, you may or may not convince the customer to buy, but you definitely have the opportunity to meet new people and try new products.
