Hospitals house you and a crew of Paramedics who are on call all hours of the day in case there’s a patient who needs to be picked up and brought into urgent care. The shifts are long, but at least you have a close group by your side while on call. Being a team player and creating a bond of trust within your crew are the best ways to ensure a successful mission, and when someone’s life is on the line, failure is not an option.

Once the call is made, you, the Emergency Medical Service Helicopter Pilot, take to the air and, in a matter of minutes, you’re rushing to the location of the patient. Hopefully, you’re not afraid of heights as you ascend from the hospital landing pad, because as the Pilot, you’re not allowed to close your eyes. Much like a Helicopter Rescue Pilot, you have to stay alert every second, and doubly so as you make a stable landing to allow Flight Paramedics off and the patient aboard. Sometimes, as an Emergency Medical Service Helicopter Pilot, you have to navigate tough mountain terrain and hazardous weather before you can touch ground, but if anyone can do it, it’s you!
