Travel Agent
Organize business and pleasure trips for your clients.
Cruise Directors are in charge of all events and activities aboard a cruise ship. It is the Cruise Director’s duty to ensure guests’ satisfaction with their voyage – in regards to the entertainment available to them. As Cruise Director, you must also be a fountain of knowledge, and answer the questions that come your way about all of the events available.
On a daily basis you make sure that all programs are running smoothly. You may check in with each department, see how things are running, and observe if there are any kinks that need to be worked out. You also have to deal with difficult customers aboard the cruise, you may need to change the program last minute, and you have to completely change whatever is not working for your guests. You may also be required to do a little administrative work: with budgets, billing, etc.
But this position is also a lot of fun, you are after all on a floating hotel-casino-mall-concert venue in one, and you get to oversee all of that entertainment. That means you get to take great trips and oversee all of the best parts of the cruise as your job. You also get to work with some amazing performers and acts, as well as their Choreographers. Though you will be gone from home for lengthy amounts of time, and you may only be able to get work on a seasonal basis, it’s still a great job, and it can be very hard to get.
Calm Under Pressure: You keep your cool when dealing with highly stressful situations.
