Cardiovascular Radiologist

The Cardiovascular Radiologist is the mad Scientist of the health care world, using cutting-edge technology and x-rays to diagnose and treat ailments that stump all the other Doctors. A Doctor trained to use radioactive substances in order to see any diseases in the human body, a Cardiovascular Radiologist is a creative thinker who acts as the last line of defense against mysterious illnesses.

Your job, if you’re a Cardiovascular Radiologist, is to see the unseen: the internal parts of the human body. Through radioactive injections, organs are illuminated in x-rays or other scanning devices, allowing you to see how well blood vessels are pumping, hence the term “vascular.” By looking at these images, you can identify anomalies in the way blood and organs pump and function. Based on what you discover, you recommend further tests or treatment.

More than likely, you’re employed by a hospital, working in both labs and offices. When not working directly with patients, you pore over reports and study images. In addition, other Radiologists may use you as a Consultant when faced with a confounding case.

Since you interact with desperate and sick individuals, this can be a stressful job. However, because your expertise entails high expectations from patients and other Doctors, you’re seen as the superhero of diagnosis.
