Cage Cashier
Hand out casino chips and pay up when lucky gamblers win big. Also known as Cage Manager, Casino Cage Cashier, Casino Cashier See More
In a casino, money keeps the party going. And a Cage Cashier in a casino holds the keys to all of the money. People visit the Cage Cashier when they’ve won big, and they’re ready to cash out and buy a big steak dinner. They also visit the Cage Cashier when they’ve lost big, and need to borrow money so they can flirt with Lady Luck a little longer.
As a Cage Cashier, you provide people with the chips they need to play games. They may provide you with cash, or they may request that you take money from their charge accounts.
You need a good nose for crime to ensure that your players aren’t committing credit card fraud. They may bring chips back to you to trade them for cash, or they may come to you to beg for credit, and you’re responsible for processing those requests. The gaming tables may also bring chips to you for tallying, and purchase chips from you.
At the end of your shift, you perform a strict accounting to ensure that the books are balanced. You may be required to make deposits to the bank on behalf of your company. You’re dealing with large sums of money, and every cent must simply be accounted for or you’ll have to answer for the discrepancy.
It’s perfectly acceptable to use calculators and adding machines as part of your work, but you must be comfortable dealing with several lines of zeros at the end of your figures. You may also encounter celebrities, including angry celebrities, who have lost volumes of money, so discretion is important.
