When a person is suspected of a crime, they are sometimes given the opportunity to put up a large amount of money in exchange for their freedom. That money is given back when the person returns at the beginning of trial. Some suspects forfeit the money and simply skip town instead, planning never to return. The job of a Bounty Hunter is to find these people and bring them back home.

Bounty Hunters usually own your own businesses, and the amount of work they do may fluctuate from month to month. If you’re a Bounty Hunter, your clients may include bond companies, which loan bail money to suspects, and law enforcement agencies.

When a job comes in, you spring into action. You interview the suspect’s friends and family, trying to determine where the person would go. You may run checks on the suspect’s credit cards and car licenses, and travel to unfamiliar locations and hold stakeouts in hopes of finding your suspect. When the person is spotted, you make an arrest and bring them home.

While this career can be incredibly thrilling, it can also be dangerous. After all, you’re capturing people who are unafraid of breaking the law and really don’t want to go back home to face trial. You need to be clever to avoid ending up injured, and you need to be physically strong so you can overpower a suspect in a fight.

On the plus side, it’s likely that you’ll have the most interesting career of anyone else you know. This could come in quite handy at your 20-year reunion, when you’re trying to impress an old flame.
