What do Slab Depiler Operators do?
Tends equipment that transfers steel slabs from conveyor onto charging table of reheating furnace: Moves controls to transfer slab from conveyor onto depiler. Measures slab for conformance to specifications, using tape, and compares identifying marks on slab with information on charging schedule. Pushes levers to lower depiler table and cause pushoff arm of depiler to push slab onto charging table. Assists furnace crew in cleaning bottom of furnace and hearth and in positioning slabs in furnace.
