Tends furnace that melts scrap metal and casts it into pigs for reuse: Regulates furnace controls to attain specified temperature. Shovels scrap metal into furnace. Skims dross from molten metal, using ladle. Turns valve and allows molten metal to run into molds to form pigs. Removes cooled pigs from mold and stacks pigs in storage area.
