Install drip-lines or sprinklers to water plants automatically.
As a Material Handler, you’re like a Bodybuilder with an obsessive need to organize. The stuff you handle as a Material Handler can be anything from raw materials in a manufacturing plant or factory, to merchandise at a store, to office supplies in a large corporation. You accept delivered goods, ship off finished products, and keep detailed records of everything that passes through your office.
Like a Bodybuilder, you need physical strength to be able to lift goods from one area of your workplace to another as a Material Handler. You want to make sure that you follow proper safety procedures so you don’t get hurt. This means doing things like lifting from the knees or understanding the proper way to drive a forklift.
You should be able to organize large pieces of information in your sleep, or pick up the skill on the job. You’re the one who fills out the necessary shipping information, arranges for pickups, and alerts the necessary departments when materials come in.
When sending things to customers, you want to be sure you get products out on time and to the correct places, since a lost or late order can ruin a customer’s opinion of the company. When getting materials for your company, you also want to be speedy, since a production team waiting for goods isn’t helping the company make any money. You also see to it that everything on the invoice is accounted for and in good condition.
