What do Hemming and Tacking Machine Operators do?

Tends automatic sewing machine that tacks padding to prequilted fabric and hems fabric to form quilted border panels for mattresses and box springs: Inserts rolls of fabric and padding into machine brackets and threads them through guides. May tend automatic machine that only sews hem on fabric to form border panel. May sew cloth handles to border panels, using sewing machine. May insert ventilating eyelets and attach handles to border panels, using punching and crimping machine. Performs duties as described under SEWING-MACHINE OPERATOR, AUTOMATIC Master Title.
