What do Corporate Image Consultants do?

Like a person who looks like a mess or isn’t confident when they talk, a business that doesn’t look its best can be hard to take seriously. Corporate Image Consultants do a lot of the same things a Personal Image Consultant does. The difference is a Corporate Image Consultant does it for an entire corporation or organization.

Your goal as Corporate Image Consultant is to improve the way a company’s employees look and act. Business (especially sales) is about selling more than a product or service. Customers need to feel that the company has an air of professionalism and confidence, or they’ll take their business elsewhere. In the case of sales, image is especially important as employees need to gain the trust of the customer and convince them that they’re making a good choice with their purchase.

You can improve a company’s image in both appearance and attitude. You might give presentations on proper workplace attire, or work one-on-one with individuals to improve their grooming. In the realm of attitude, you suggest ways to improve communication, give tips on conflict mediation, and explain productive ways to network. You might get called to the company retreat to lead workshops on stress management, or give seminars on how to remain professional in frustrating situations.

Some companies hire you to work with a specific individual, say a Vice President they’re grooming to become CEO, while others will want you to work with everyone in the office.
