What do Boxing Promoters do?

Boxing Promoters are Matchmakers. Never mind that boxing is all about fighting and relationships all about loving. Just like a good marriage, a good fight is the result of a perfect pairing, and it’s up to the Boxing Promoter to arrange the date, including which Boxers fight, where they fight, and when. Indeed, when you’re a Boxing Promoter, it’s your job to set up boxing matches and then promote them.

Creating a perfect boxing match requires many skills. On the one hand, you’re like an Event Planner. It’s your responsibility to find talented Boxers, sign them up for a fight, then arrange all the logistics. These include the fight’s date, time, and venue, as well as its staff and its sponsors who bankroll the fight’s costs.

On the other hand, you’re also like a Publicist, because it’s your number one priority is promoting your fight. This involves advertising the fight, generating media buzz about it, and otherwise spreading the word in order to sell tickets. Whether you’re courting a Boxer or wooing an audience, you turn punches into profits!
