Inside Jobs + Learning in the Digital Age

Inside Jobs News | January 23, 2013

The Inside Jobs team is proud to announce a new initiative: A Bill of Rights and Principles for Learning in the Digital Age.

What Is It?

In December, we joined a passionate team of teachers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to create this manifesto. Given the explosion of digital education, the team’s main goal was to outline basic rights, responsibilities, and possibilities for online learning.

But the Bill of Rights and Principles is just the starting point for a wider conversation: the document is meant to be discussed, hacked, changed, and transformed by anyone who wants to. So please, read it, share it, and add to it!

How Does Inside Jobs Fit In?

At Inside Jobs, our R&D focuses on creating faster, simpler ways for people to find the right education for their career goals. And digital learning is changing this landscape.

Traditionally, people prepared for careers by earning a degree from a brick-and-mortar university or investing in hands-on vocational training. Now, digital education—from Khan Academy classes to Udacity MOOCs—is opening up totally new ways to prepare for career success.

We’re excited to contribute our career-focused perspective to projects like this, because we believe cutting-edge technologies will have a huge impact on how people can succeed in the jobs of the future.

Again, the Bill of Rights and Principles for Learning in the Digital Age is a crowdsource project. Read it and add your ideas here.
