If the term “detail-oriented” is at the top of your resume, here’s a useful list of jobs that utilize that skill and reward it with a high salary.

1. Accountant
If “number-crunching” is your middle name, well, that would be odd. However, if that’s your forte, there are dozens of accounting jobs waiting for you. Work in a corporation, become a Forensic Accountant, or go with the flexible CPA certification.

2. Researcher
Brush up on your science classes and pick a specialty. Researchers make their mark on history and earn a pretty dollar as they study animals, changes in the environment, or the economy.

3. Engineer
Curiosity, a problem-solving nature, and a passion for details will earn you the title of “Engineer” and the impressive paycheck that comes with it. Use your analytical mind to design and improve software, buildings, production processes, or chemicals.

4. Surgeon
Use your steady hand, desire to help others, and fascination with the human body to bring home the bacon as a Surgeon.

5. Administrative Assistant
If you’re detail oriented and highly organized, consider working at a law firm, corporation, hospital, or other high-paying office location. Make travel arrangements, maintain your bosses’ calendars, manage phone lines and messages, and coordinate office correspondence.

6. Paralegal or Lawyer
Attention to detail might just win the case. Research past cases, analyze the law, and make sure every “i” is dotted and “t” crossed. Specialize in securities, corporate law, the constitution, or international law.

7. Editor
Work at a newspaper, move into the New York publishing world, or focus your talents as a Dialogue Editor. Whatever your choice, you’ll prepare documents for public consumption by scrutinizing every letter.
